The Hon. Eric Grossman
Shelanda McGill-Hall was born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana. She attended Washington Elementary and Sunnyside Junior High and graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School. She grew up playing, hanging out and being involved in Hanna Community Center as a youth. After graduating from high school Shelanda went to college at Florida A & M University, a Historical Black College in Tallahassee, Florida. After graduating from Florida A&M with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Shelanda went on to work for several companies in the area of Accounting and Finance such as: US West in Denver, Colorado; Conseco in Carmel, Indiana; American Health Network in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Shelanda currently works for Simon Property Group where she has held several positions. She currently works in the Financial Reporting - Development Accounting Department as a Fixed Asset Accountant. Shelanda lives in Indianapolis and is married to her college sweetheart, Derrick Hall, who is an Information Technology manager. Shelanda and Derrick have two sons Derrick and Daylen. Derrick Jr. attends his parents alma mater Florida A & M University where he plays football and his major is business administration. Daylen is graduating senior of Cathedral High School. Daylen will also be attending Florida A&M to purse baseball and major in computer science. Shelanda is a proud member of the Board of Directors at Hanna Community Center where she currently serves as Vice President. "I am honored to serve. It is my opportunity to help serve and support the very community center that helped to support me during my youth and shaped who I am today." Shelanda is currently pursuing a career change as a Realtor. In her spare time Shelanda loves to eat foods from different cultures, but two of her favorite places is Budges and Arni's!
Dr. Alberto Rodriguez
Dr. Rodriguez is the Mary Endres Chair in Teacher Education and Professor of Cross-Cultural Science Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Purdue University. His research focuses on helping educators make their teaching and curriculum more culturally and socially relevant to all students. He also conducts research on how to better integrate science, mathematics, technology and engineering (STEM) across all curriculum subjects in order to help students make relevant connections to real world issues.
Dr. Rodriguez has received various research awards for his work on addressing equity, diversity and social justice issues in science and teacher education. His research have been published widely in multiple research journals and other venues. Dr. Rodriguez is often invited to speak and conduct workshops for educators interested in working more effectively with culturally diverse students.
Rod Butcher is currently working at McDonald's as a Department Manager. Previous work has included: HR Director at Zachary Confections, Associate Relations at Purdue, HR Manager at Birchwood Foods, Associate Relation Manager at Wabash National, General Manager at Pizza Hut and Deck Division Officer in the US Navy.
Scott Galloway came to the community in 1994 as a Purdue Undergrad. Scott was hired by the Lafayette Police Department in 1998. Scott currently serves as the Captain of Patrol. Scott has been a member of the Hanna board since 2016 and has provided several outreach events and services to the Hanna seniors and youth programs. Scott values building relationships and connecting to the needs of the Hanna community.
Rev. Kevin Bowers
The Rev. Kevin A. Bowers was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in November of 2001 and has served as the pastor of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Lafayette’s North End since July of 2004. Kevin and his wife Jennie have found Lafayette to be a wonderful and vibrant community in which to make their home and raise their three children. Kevin is honored to have a part in the fulfilling the Hanna mission of promoting health and wellbeing in our community.
